This post about JBHiFi seems to warrant a golden shonky for ‘slight of hand’, if there was one.
Shonky Product Change - Streets Blue Ribbon
Streets Blue Ribbon Ice Cream is now a “Frozen Dairy Dessert”. The only indication of the change is the product description on the side of the container. The front and back are exactly the same.
It is a totally different product and vastly inferior in my opinion. Not only is the taste and texture different, but of most concern is that the new product is higher in saturated fat, sugars and sodium. In addition, the amount of protein has decreased. No change in price of course.
I believe this is misleading and deceptive. Many consumers would not even realise that they have purchased a different product, until of course they taste it and start reading the product information.
I’ll never buy the product again.

Streets Blue Ribbon products for sometime have not been labelled as Ice Cream.
Back in November 2024 there was some discussion about the Blue Ribbon products.
Though still at this time Coles refers to the products as Ice Cream and Woolworths still continues to call the reduced fat versions as Ice Cream. In the linked discussions the Standard is noted and none of the Blue Ribbon products officially can be termed Ice Cream as they do not have the required amount of dairy fats to be termed Ice Cream. It is at least the big two of Coles and Woolworths who are terming the product as Ice Cream, there may be other retailers doing the same. But it is not Streets who are producing it as Ice Cream and have not done so for some period of time.
The Shonky nominations should perhaps be Coles and Woolworths for their product cataloguing.

Not shonky as such, but I do want to give a shout out to a new LG TV I just bought for my grandmother. Love the TV itself, but given it cost $700 I think it would have been reasonable to include the $2 worth of screws required for wall mounting! It required a different size to the old TV.
