Ceramic vs traditional electric cooktops, and pyrolitic ovens

Hi all,

I am in the midst of a house reno, focusing on my kitchen and laundry.

I need some help with choosing appliances for the kitchen.

As electricity is my only option for this property, I am thinking of going with ceramic cooktop (as i dont want the hassle of having to buy compatible cookware to go with an induction cooktop).

How do ceramic cooktops compare to the traditional style of electric cooktops?

How reslient are ceramic cooktops? I heard of a story of someone whose rangehood fell onto the cooktop.

How quickly do the ceramic cooktops heat up and how does this compare to the traditional ones?

how long does a ceramic cooktop take to cool down?

can i use normal cookware for a ceramic cooktop?

what is best rectangular or square cooktop?

what about the placements of the elements? thoughts?

any recommended brands? ive only ever had bosch appliances but not sure whether to put high end appliances if it becomes a rental at some point?

how do i choose between ceramic radiant, halogen, or semi halogen? what any thoughts on this?

thankyou in advance for your input

( @millyisfluffy66 has already been introduced to the pyrolytic oven topic. )
