What are the defects?
The product does not comply with the mandatory standard ‘Trade Practices Act 1974 -Consumer Protection Notice No.4 of 2008 - Consumer Product Safety Standard for Children’s Portable Folding Cots.’
The safety markings are not satisfactory and are the missing required warning statements including missing the warning to use the mattress supplied by the manufacturer and not to add an extra mattress.
What are the hazards?
If the mattress is not used correctly, there may be a risk of suffocation to infants or young children.
What should consumers do?
Customers should contact Union Australia to arrange for a label to be provided with the required warnings, which can be permanently attached to the cot.
