Microsoft Computer Problems From Hell

EaseUS Todo Backup, there is a free version which would suit most home users and there is a paid home version. There is also a business version.

As for your program use the compatibility tool and select Win 10 or Win 7 as a choice. That should get it working for you.

Install it and use Revo uninstaller to remove it. Then install it again.

Hi Phil,

I did that but I still get the same error message.

Have you tried the following:

Assuming you deleted all the leftover registry entries, folders and files Revo exposed, Revo should have done the following as part of that.

uninstall the program, delete the product folder completely from C:\Program files\Paragon Software\ and install it again.

From the Paragon site another ‘fix’ is the one @Gregr referenced, to

  1. Open Windows Explorer
  2. Type %TMP% into address bar and press Enter
  3. Delete all files from this location (skipping files and folders that prompts that they are being used).
  4. Check if the issue is resolved.

Apologies I do not have more suggestions. Some vendors provide a ‘nuke’ script that when all else fails is designed to completely eradicate the program from the computer, but I did not find one on Paragon
there could be one I just did not find it.

I followed @grahroll’s recommendation and bought EaseUS.

When I first installed it, it would not run. Deleted and re-installed it and it ran before crashing at the 75% mark thus rendering the target drive unusable. An error message stated “CRITICAL PROCESS DIED” and “www.windows com/stopcode”.

De-installed it once again and disconnected the target drive but the computer would crash after only a minute or so, prior to which the cursor would junp erratically jump all over the screen before freezing.

Tried to re-install Windows 10 on the target drive from the image on an USB drive but after it “installed”, the audio and a couple of other items were inoperable.

The next morning, I replaced the Microsoft junk wireless mouse with the Logitech wireless from our laptop and itn worked fine. The online drive worked normally and I managed to re-install Windows on the target drive.

Re-installed EaseUS and successfully cloned the target drive.

If I believed in superstition, I would say this computer is cursed, but as I do not, I believe it was just more Microsoft junk mouse problems.

Even now, the mouse will not scroll properly just like the last set I took back to Officeworks, but this time I will get a Logitech set.

As for Paragon, I re-installed it out of curiousity but it failed the same as it did previously.

I also found these “glowing” reviews for them which mirror my experience.

Time now for me to give these charlatans some reviews.
