My IPad 10gen stopped working 2 years and 2 months from the date of purchase. Contact with Apple revealed that I would have to take the iPad to an Apple Store. I explained that the nearest was a 4.5 hr round trip (I live in a rural location in Victoria). I was advised that I could send it for assessment which would cost a service fee of $650!! Then if it needed repairing I would have to pay for that as well. Outrageous when the original cost was $1000. It is now with a local repairer who believes it is a chip issue. The service fee for this is $50 and $200 for repair if it works…if not no charge! I will take the matter up with consumer affairs however I wondering if anyone has had any success?
