Need to clean some deep carpet, the CHOICE comparison doesn’t seem to include machines with a power head - are there any available in Australia or should I just pick the biggest wattage?
There are a number of vacuum cleaners with power heads. Some power heads are incorporated into the standard vacuum, others can be bought as an accessory.
We have a Shark upright with has a power head. There are others as well including stick and cordless ones.
It does. To see which ones have power heads, select ‘Compare’ and then ‘Compare Shortlist’. The Features section outlines those vacuums with power heads in the comparison table. For example:
When I tried I only saw the option for ‘power head = No”
I just did the comparison for those recommended by Choice, and some of the recommended ones have power heads. The previous post is an extract from the comparison table showing those (with green tick) that have power heads.

We also have a mains powered Shark with the option for long or short pile carpet , it has only one drawback and that is you have to empty if regularly but I cope
