What are the defects?
The gas struts that hold the back door open may be manufactured improperly, which may allow the gas charge to leak.
What are the hazards?
If a sufficient amount of gas leaks while the back door is open, the gas struts may fail and pose a risk of injury.
What should consumers do?
Owners of the involved vehicles will be contacted by mail, requesting the registered owner to make an appointment at their preferred Lexus dealer for rectification, free of charge.
