Tiny House (or RV) Giveaway on Facebook Scam

A post appeared on our town’s Facebook Notice Board offering 5 Tiny Houses to be given away to 5 lucky families in November. All you had to do to enter was Like their page and type DONE on ours. Despite other users warning it was a scam, dozens entered before the Moderators took it down. When you Like their FB page you are then asked to share the message to 5 others to prove your eligibility.

It seems to work like this. The scammers lift a tiny house (or RV) photo from a legitimate site. Lots of hopeful people enter, Like, share to 5 others and the page then garners thousands of Likes in a month and is sold on the black market or the subject is changed to something else which now looks very popular. At worst they steal your identity and empty your bank account.

Litle wonder that the police officer is praying before eating that pile of junk food in front of him.
