Tickets to shows

At various times I have tried to get good tickets to shows like musicals. At the moment I am interested in the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child which will be coming to Melbourne in January 2019. It is all sold out for at least half a year. Is there any way one can secure good tickets (not “best available”), eg by joining some group? Any advice and/or experience appreciated.

It can be a long shot, but if you have a premium credit card with concierge services among the perks give them a ring.

Some advice on ticket resellers in case you were considering this option.

Also try searching to see if there are any clubs and associations (or schools) that may have done a bulk purchase to on sell to its members. It may be possible to purchase these (if you are a member or know someone who is).

If exist and have already old these out, you might be able to express an interest in buying tickets should someone not be able to attend the show…like being standby.
