Thanks For Nothing, Anti-Vaxxers

An article warning that the effects of measles are much worse than previously believed.

One of the arguments of antivaccination groups is that natural immunity (human response through contracting a disease) is ‘better’ than vaccination induced immunity…by saying natural immunity is ‘better’ because strengthens the immune system in the longer term. This article debunks this myth.

If evidence proves she did it, one would hope she would be prosecuted as a terrorist! Not much chance since her rights to be ignorant seem paramount in this government’s agenda.

Did she think about also the risk of people getting shingles. Is this any different to people putting toxins or sharps in food for unwary consumers.

Actually it is much worse.

Fortunately nobody has been injured to date by the idiots who put needles and nails into strawberries and other foodstuffs.

But a great many people could be infected by these sort of anti-vaxxer idiots.

An expose of the lies that anti-vaxxers try to use to not get their kids vaccinated.

Another article regarding anti-vaxxer stupidity.

I cannot believe that anyone who presents themselves like he does can possibly expect to be taken as a person with authority, at least outside Nimbin.

The results of not being vaccinated.

An article advising that most of the anti-vaxxer ads are funded by just 2 organisations.

Who would have thought that the legandary JFK would have had an idiot for a son?

Anyone who cannot differentiate JFK from RFK might make that mistake.

Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. is an American anti-vaccination activist, environmental attorney, and author. Kennedy is a son of Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy.

My apologies to JFK and family.

Looks like the anti vaxers from NZ are implicated in a spread around Pacific Nations.

Another article regarding anti-vaxxer idiots in Samoa.

And nearly 5,000 have died so far from measles in the DRC.

The DRC issue is much more than anti-vaxxers, it is about civil unrest, other disease outbreaks (such as Ebola), lack of food and clean sanitary conditions and other related factors including mass movements of populations. Sadly until that Country is much more secure for it’s citizens the deaths will only multiply.

As for Samoa, Oh dear they do need to rapidly respond in real science based proactive ways to reduce the terrible impacts they are suffering.

I mentioned the DRC as an example of just how horrific the results of measles can be, and which can be totally avoided elsewhere if ignorance and anti-vaxxer stupidity do not prevail.

The DRC measles death toll exceeds the Ebola death toll for the past 12 months

Real science seems an outlier in many societies these days. Some ideologists are doing their best to ban it even in many advanced countries, apparently with some success.

For those who might think this is an overstatement or just a wild opinion have a look at “The Republican War on Science” by Chris Mooney which details chapter and verse how things have gone in the USA.

Individual scientists and private institutions have been threatened, told what to study and to publish while government funding and the committee system have been used to directly control publicly funded research and what conclusions were reached and to suppress publication of those that were not acceptable.

Then there was the AIDS denial in South Africa that killed thousands.
