Has anyone used soap nuts (also known as soapberries) to wash clothes? If so how do they perform?
Choice has reviewed them in the past and they are possibly as good as washing in water alone…in another words, an expensive internet craze not worth following…

Yes we have used them in our front loader, after being given them for xmas a few years ago.
After using them for quite a while we decided that they really are a waste of time, and as Peter mentions above, not much different to using pure water. They just do not clean clothes very well if they have any significant dirt on them, and tend to leave whites looking somewhat dull and grey after a while.
