I wonder why they also didn’t target other food products which are also consumed in excess and have even more added sugar content than softdrink.
This includes packet biscuits, confectionary, packages, fesh or frozen desserts, condiments etc and the list goes on.
‘Low hanging fruit’?
You need to start somewhere.
On a hot humid wet equatorial day in Singapore, what would be preferable, a cold one from the coke machine or a packet of biscuits. Yes there are lots of other high in sugar food products, if you consider sugar a food, vs condiment or spice.
‘Packages’??? Can you now obtain rice paper wrappers with added sugar, Yum! Assume this is a typo?
P.S.
I prefer the sugars in low hanging fruit converted so that I can enjoy them guilt free, desert excepted.
