Rice : What brand / type do you prefer to buy?

An article regarding research into arsenic in rice.

I almost always use Basmati rice. An Australian healthy rice choice is Doongara rice. If interested Low GI .

If you’re unsure if you’ll like some of the other healthy but less known varieties e.g. black, red, wild rices - Aldi has a range of pouches you can microwave for 2 minutes and will feed at least 2 people for around $2-3.

Sharing a couple of articles as thought starters for those interested.

For other conditions e.g. If you have kidney impairment this may affect your choices and need medical/nutritionist guidance.

It is worth also noting that eating rice can be part of a healthy diet. Those who may have a restricted diet recommended by their medical or dietary specialists should ensure they discuss the consumption of different foods with these specialists. It is also worth noting that information on diets or medical conditions within the community should be general in nature and anyone seeking medical advice or dietary recommendations should approach their own specialists.
