Replace/repair LED TV under consumer guarentee

My parents have a 32" Samsung LED TV that failed after 3 years. Is this something that would likely be covered by the Australian consumer guarentee?

Dave.

Hi Dave, it would be a reasonable expectation that a major brand TV should last more than three years, so, yes.
As a first step, I would approach the retailer where you purchased the TV.

My nearly four-year-old Samsung 50 inch LED has vertical lines on the screen. Contact with Samsung resulted in a service tech visiting to inspect. Samsung unable to repair (no spare parts). Offered full refund or store credit (my choice). Samsung arrange courier to collect after which refund will be remitted. Required only proof of purchase and serial number of unit. Superior customer service. I say that not because I am happy with outcome but because I was kept informed every step of the process.
