As indicated above on a number of occasions, the term ‘security deposit’ is well defined, including legally (and even provided some links above indicating such). While one may have their own opinion and rely on a dictionary, the facts indicate otherwise.
Budget’s use of the term ‘security deposit’, along with other examples provided above are correct. If you disagree, you are more than welcome to undertake lobbying with government and the legal profession to change the term to what you believe it should be.
