👉 POLL: Help name our new myth busting category

Do you have a consumer myth you’d like to see busted? Can you help answer some enduring consumer questions that people often struggle with?

We’re starting a new category thanks to a great suggestion from within the Community forum that’s all around myth busting. The only problem is we can’t decide on the best name, so we thought we’d ask for your help.

Vote in our poll to decide:

  • Urban myths for consumers
  • The sniff test
  • Fact check
  • BS busters
  • BS free zone
  • MythDefied
  • Something else

Other could be

Tall tales
Fabled Fiction
Fabled Follies

Also, the Open and Closed Button is a bit weird. I could only vote after opening the ballot.

Any name needs to give a clear indication of the role of category.
Thus “Fact check” and “The sniff test” aren’t good names.
“BS busters”, and similar suggest issues related to advertising, terms & conditions, etc. so doesn’t seem appropriate.
Mythbusters may be copyrighted, etc.

I like:
“Fiction fixes”, “Figments and fallacies” “Myths for consumers”

I add the following for consideration:
“Folklore fails” “Failed folklore” “Fanciful folklore”
“Unfounded traditions”

“MythDefied” - as a big INXS fan I can’t help but hear it sung to the tune of “Mystify” which is also appropriate
one of the best concerts I’ve been to
Memorial Drive Adelaide, sometime in the '80’s
was a bit of a blur
