Newentor mattress

Hi there,
Has anybody had any experience with Newentor mattress company? I only came across them after searching various reviews regarding beds in a box. Not that I place much Creedance on being a German company but I find that interesting fact.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks so much

It is not clear where the company is from. Did you find a statement it was a German company, or are you concluding that from the claim about being the #1 mattress in Germany?

There is an Australia site that makes it look local, there is a US + Canada site that also make it look local and with ‘free worldwide shipping’. Original Australia PR?

https://en.prnasia.com/releases/apac/designed-for-all-sleepers-newentor-launches-its-adjustable-design-and-ergonomic-support-memory-foam-mattresses-in-australia-351635.shtml

The US+CA site also shows the ‘laws of Victoria’ without stating the country, and the warranty includes the ACL words modified to ‘international consumer law’. From that site

You make a very good point, I simply and ignorantly took it from the fact that they are the number one company in Germany. Which really any company can make. I have not been able to narrow down where they are based. Thank you for the information

With a little more poking around they appear to be a Chinese company called Shenzhen GGMM Industrial Co., Ltd. originally started out manufacturing electronics

Well done sleuthing  Newentor is indeed one of their trademark names. For the US a record is here.

Great sleuthing, Steve. We also stumbled upon the newentor (finally got the ecosa collected/refunded)
I thought it was interesting that their AU site claims “Germany’s #1 selling mattress”, but the US/international site doesn’t mention it at all

I take it u haven’t decided on a replacement yet? We’re back on our old mattress & it’s not good. I miss the ecosa
if only it had been the correct length

Thank you. Unfortunately, my adventures with Ecosa have not been finalised yet. They have found another provider in town who will pick up the Ecosa Mattress. However, I have asked for more time as I need a replacement, which they have agreed. Apart from the obvious, the other issue with Ecosa is that they appear to be treating warranty issues exactly the same as their free trial conditions. I am unsure how the law views a faulty product, in this case a mattress, being donated to Charity. My personal view is that it would be wrong just to throw these mattresses out and as such I offered to buy the faulty mattress for a token amount but Ecosa have rejected this.

After looking at the endless choices now offered online, I have decided on a Onebed modular. Onebed Modular 12’’ - Onebed So far the customer service has been very good in responding to messages within an hour. Unfortunately, the mattress is not in stock and estimated delivery will be the 24 Feb. although this is not guaranteed. They did offer another mattress in their range at a reduced price and also a free topper but I have declined this. Hopefully I receive the mattress soon and I’ll report my thoughts.

There is no issue and this is addressed by the ACCC (see page 11, Consumers’ Responsibilities - Goods in this PDF). If someone knowingly acquires a product with a fault, the ACL does not apply for that fault. It is because a person/organisation has accepted the fault as part of the acquisition. An example which is commonly seen is hail damaged new cars. Dealerships sell them with the hail dents and the dents are accepted by the buyer
and as a result, the dents aren’t a fault under the ACL.

Thanks very much for the information
