Another article regarding vaping.
From 1 October 2021, vaping liquids will be regulated. Major changes will be that products containing nicotine need to be registered with the TGA (any unapproved liquuds containing nicotine needs special approval before a doctor can prescribe), anyone seeking nicotine based liquids needs a prescription (including those bought online from overseas retailers) and some commonly used chemicals/additives in liquids will be banned in Australia.
The TGA website has information…
and details here (0.5kB pdf file)…
The banned chemical list is worth looking at regularly if you vape and buy non-nicotine liquuds locally or overseas. The current banned chemicals are known to cause lung injuries/health impacts, and it is worth checking products you may be about to purchase are free of the banned ones. Regular review of the list is recommended as manufacturers will try new chemicals which may be added to the banned list at a later date.
Another warning regarding vaping products.
A crackdown on importing vaping products from 01.10.2021.
Suck on that, Philip Morris.
Vaping may be replacing smoking in young children, with many using imported vapes containing nicotine…
It will be interesting to see how successful controls are after 1 October when many users (and dealers) will be importing directly from foreign manufacturers.
Nicotine is only added for one reason, to ensure they have a customer for life.
"But Hawkes said that “the big fear with the October initiative is it could in fact backfire and result in a bootleg situation”.
What is needed are sting operations with massive fines and jail time for retailers selling illegal vapes.
That might just dampen their enthusiam.

Another wake-up warning.
Another bad news article regarding vaping.
And another one.
I got a warning about that website!
I got a warning about this website!
One of the myths associated with vaping is it is believed they are ‘healthier’ than smoking tobacco. This belief isn’t based on proven facts, but because there a lack of information about vapes and their long term health consequences.
Most vapers don’t know who makes vapes, how they are made, what chemical cocktails are mixed to create vaping fluids and what materials the vape cartridge is made from. There are some scientists testing vapes and the answers to these questions are concerning, especially for those who vape or consider vaping:
Polonium 210 has a half-life of a few months before it turns into stable Lead. It comes from Uranium 238 which is everywhere as it has a half-life of billions of years.
Everything around you, and what you eat or drink, has U238 in it and thus some of it is decaying into Radium before decaying into Po210.
Far more serious things to consider about smoking or vaping than that beatup story from Aunty Online.
Now in reality, lethal amounts of Po210 come from nuclear reactors specifically producing it, and the only country that seems to be in that business is Russia.
i got too…

Why the pushback. Note RVA is backed by The British American Tobacco which opposes the government and TGA position on their products.
A very big caution for anyone tempted to follow thru to the RVA web resources.
