Mortein peaceful nights insect repeller

The refills for this quite useful device have gone up from $10 to $ 17.50 in a year (Woolies, today). 3% inflation rate? I managed to get some refills for $10 on Ebay - that tells you the real price. Woolies just works on the principle of ‘this time of the year, after quite some rain in Brisbane, we’ll just bump up our prices’. Why do I constantly feel that I have to spend hours on the web to avoid paying exorbitant prices? What about all those non-retired people who just don’t have the time and energy to search for fair prices? Is being a crook normal now in our society?

The recommended retail price has not only increased as Woollies, but at Coles, Mitre 10, IGA, Amazon and the list goes on.

It is Mortein that has increased the price, and $17.50 is the new recommended retail price set by Mortein.

This could be for a number of reasons such as they are old stock sold at the old RRP, an online seller selling them cheaper as they have lower overheads to a bricks and mortar store, are a grey import or as occurs with some products, not a genuine Mortein product.

Hi @Mike24. Woolworths is currently selling the Mortien Peaceful Nights refils for $12.50 each. Perhaps you could stock up?

Thanks for your tip. However, I ordered a few online for $10 each - waiting for them to arrive and hoping they will be good.

I just wait until they are on special then stock up.

Thank for all your comments. here’s my final say:

I hate it having to wait for ‘Specials’. It happens more and more that time-poor people, or those who are not good at keeping a mental shopping list in their head, have to pay more - much more, at times. We are being given the run-around so that THEY can make a higher profit. I’d rather have the same price all year round, maybe with occasional specials for fresh F&V when in abundance.
