Many types of hard floors (eg parquetry and wood) should not be cleaned with a steam mop.
The Karcher FC5 Hard Floor Cleaner seems to be a new type of appliance which combines a type of vacuum cleaner with a floor washer which does not use steam and leaves the floor reasonably dry (a requirement for wood floors)…
This appears to solve the need to first vacuum the floor then mop it, frequently washing the mop as you go…
I have found one review which appears to say that the machine is too heavy but that it seems to do what it is supposed to do. It is priced around $350 RRP.
Has anyone purchased this appliance, and if so could you share your experience with it?
Could ACA consider a test of this appliance?
