Jam : What brand do you buy?

I recall my grandpa saying something similar. We would have Sunday roast (at lunch time, usually lamb because it was cheap then) and if there was no dessert he would make little bites, cutting up a slice of bread into small squares. Each would get a small slice of cheese and a dab of jam. When all were lined up on the plate he would put away the jam and cheese and then pop them into his mouth, one by one, chewing each with careful enjoyment. As you couldn’t waste food by cutting off the crust he would eat the corners first, then the edges and save the soft centre bits for last.
