I think I’ll wait until we get a response from Choice’s “BS Buster” before I come to any conclusion.
Readers Digest have had a long standing reputation, in my view, of writing articles of doubtful accuracy, that are not properly authenticated.

It’s actually on MSN, which is pretty much a tabloid. That site doesn’t play at all well with my browser, so I won’t be checking out the article.
