GM Pulls Pin On Australia

GM continues to play hard ball.

Federal Senator gives GM a well deserved spray.

I loved these parts.

“General Motors had acted with 'the ethics of a granny-smacking purse snatcher”.

“Mary Barra, the worldwide chair and CEO of General Motors, who has a pay package in the tens of millions of dollars, is sending Australian families to the wall. Ms Barra is now using coronavirus as an alibi for the worst corporate behaviour. Talk about Dodge City. Talk about Gordon Gekko on steroids.”

The grubs at GM and GMH have succeeded in shafting the Australian Holden dealers.

With friends like GM and GMH, who needs enemies?

After GM claimed that they were quitting manufacturing RHD vehicles globally, they will now be making RHD Chevrolet Corvettes in the US.

What hypocrites.

Interestingly, after the share price of Eagers Automotive Limited crashed from around $14 some 12 months ago to around just $3 some 6 months ago after GM shafted the Holden dealers, it has now climbed back up to $12.20 today.

Looks like Eagers are well rid of GM.

Ford, possibly although it is partly due to the Ranger 4WD and some possibly misguided government incentives causing tradies and businesses to upgrade the bosses multipurpose holiday work car.

One would think Ford only sell the Ranger?:rofl:

P.S.
Why government Covid incentives to get the economy back on it’s feet would need to encourage business through new car dealers and increased imports? For someone else to fathom.

An article regarding GM’s disgusting behaviour in the US.

Who would have expected vehicles so shoddily designed that the weight of a bunch of keys could result in catastrophic failures?

Meanwhile, Eagers certainly don’t seem to be missing GM one iota.
