Hi @Jimtama, welcome to the community.

As @RebeccaCiaramidaro/@kim carried out the electric blanket assessment for Choice, they will be best placed to provide comment on how the easy of use rating was determined and why it may be different to online user reviews.

Looking online, much of the criticism seem to stem from the button type controller on the electric blanket - the button needs to be held down to get to the desired setting. Establishing a heat setting on the blankets is very different to many other types (manual sliding switch or pushing a button to change a setting) which might form the basis of the criticism, along with potentially unclear instruction manual.

We assess a number of parameters that come into an electric blanket’s total ease of use score. Our feedback so far is that comfort is the number one concern, so we look at whether the area that connects the controller to the blanket is likely to be uncomfortable when lying on your side. People are also looking for how easy they are to wash, the ease of fitting it on the bed and ease of accessing the controller when lying in bed.
In terms of the Celcius controller’s settings, we did notice that an additional page of instructions was issued to replace the old manual which was, evidently, giving people the completely wrong information! (See the photo of the old vs new page.) The new instructions meant we were able to select the settings correctly, however we do acknowledge it is not a straightforward way of doing things compared to the other ones that have simple slider controls. So we’ll look to add this as a comment and maybe include instructions on how it’s done.
I should add, also, that this blanket is not designed for all-night use so really you would only be using it to pre-heat the bed, you wouldn’t be adjusting it multiple times in the night for instance.

Thanks very much for your detailed explanation and speedy response.
Just think 80% is too high but just my opinion.
