Does bulk food have to be labelled with the manufacturer

I bought some gelatin from a ‘bulk food’ store. The container was labelled ‘made in Australia’

I emailed the store and asked them who their supplier was for the gelatin so I could check them out. I want to know how the cows are farmed. Animal well-being and low use of pesticides etc are important to me

The reply from the store was:

“I hope you will understand that, due to commercial agreements, we are unfortunately unable to provide the names of our suppliers.”

They did offer to pass my questions on to the supplier and then email me the answers, but that is fairly cumbersome.

Do our food labeling laws require that the manufacturer be listed on the product at point of sale?
