Delonghi ESAM6900 water tank issue

Hi there, so in the ling trail of appliances that are failing (never had such a long list!) the Delonghi Prima Donna ESAM6900 has decided the water tank isn’t inserted. Have researched, researched and then researched again. Float moved up and down, the small tab clicks, figuring the water sensor needs replacing. But, here’s what I find curious, if I turn the machine off, put the tank in full, start it up - the error disappears. Is this something to do with opening and closing circuits during the power up routine? Appreciate your input, thankyou in advance.

Probably a reset of the error, it will most likely reappear on use. Sounds like a fault with either the sensor or could be the micro switch that the float actuates. Micro switches do fail even if they ‘click’, so it isn’t a definitive test if it does click.
