Had to run an errand & people are carrying fancy gift wrap paper.

  1. it’s expensive
  2. It goes in the bin either on the 24th or 25th
  3. Majority will not get together this Christmas due to Covid
  4. Why not use plain brown paper? Decorate it with twine/dry herbs etc?

Just another example of blatant consumersim at work althought there is one benefit in the case of little kids who prefer to play with the fancy wrapping paper rather than their gifts.

Kids do play with paper and boxes

Most of that fancy paper is not recyclable. As everyone who cares is moving towards recycling.

Kids can draw on plain brown paper.

No one is getting anything from me this year. It’s been a tough one. Not expecting anything from anyone. So not wasting my money on gifts haha
