Some more advice from the ABC.

I said to my wife yesterday that the Boxing Day sales are just people buying things that they don’t need and can’t afford,

Gladys also had a hot tip concerning free give a-ways.

Covid-19 is the big free give away that you can share multiple times.
There was some recent advice also discouraging shopping in the Sydney CBD on Boxing Day.

Only at Coles.

They might have been too stupid to stock the WA lobsters and the fresh ducks for Xmas but they have beaten Woollies with this one.

They might as well also put the Easter eggs out now.

And come Easter Monday, perhaps they will have the fruit mince pies and tins of assorted shortbread on display.

Indeed the Hot Crosses are at the entry with a table just for them. Plus a placard to ensure you can’t miss them.

Yep, same here. Doing the big weekly+ shop yesterday I even noticed the pile going down. Although some customers seemed to be very discreet in how they made their selections. Likely heading to the self checkout.

Do they provide brown paper bags?

Our local Woollies even had them discounted for a quick sale. Maybe down here they are yet to sell like hotcakes.

Only for the mushrooms!

Otherwise BYO or purchase on the way out at the checkout.

Nothing wrong with a glazed fruit bun with jam or honey or lots of butter any day of the year. Although the cross on top is a tongue in cheek cheep shot at one religion, IMO. Supermarket commercialism ahead of piety? Nothing new putting the dollar or power ahead of purpose, the Church of Rome or Henry VIII included.

I have an Indian friend, several actually - enough said?
