Are our personal care products a health hazard?

We try to do the right thing and look after our personal hygiene and appearance by using grooming products, but some (Cheap and expensive brands included) are full of harmful synthetic chemicals, preservatives, and artificial fragrances, which could cause allergic dermatitis and long term issues such as acne, age spots, bacterial infections, burns, wrinkles…

Some of the harmful Ingredients are:
Mercury in skin creams (Used as a skin lightener).

Lead in lipstick ( It is said to be safe if used correctly, in other words: no licking of lips, no eating or kissing while wearing it! )

Bacteria in mascara, transferred from eyes to mascara wand.

Mineral makeup: particles are so small they can be inhaled into lungs.

Even if we don’t put on makeup we can still be exposed to toxic chemicals such as:
Formaldehyde in hair products.
Triclosan in toothpaste, and in antibacterial soaps and body washes…

We can protect ourselves by checking the list of ingredients and being aware of the toxic ones, and by making our choice of purchase based on the ingredients and not on price.

I have just gone through 2 years of Lymphoma, and the doctor told me not to use anything cosmetics or hand wash, cream with alcohol in it. It is very difficult to find, and much more expensive.
