Maybe the offender worked on the basis of why use real money when buying “junk”

I couldn’t understand why those people would be silly enough to sign over the registration papers and hand over their vehicles before they had the money in their accounts.

Some may have thought they dodged a bullet when they sold their lemon so easily, not realising they got the “junk bonds”
