Welcome to Ruby’s Corner!
If you didn’t already know, Ruby Hutchison MLC founded the Australian Consumers’ Association (ACA) – the organisation we know today as CHOICE. Ruby was not just a consumer rights trailblazer, she was also:
- Single mother of 7
- Founding chairperson of the Epilepsy Association of Western Australia
- First woman elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council
Ruby’s Corner is a place to carry on and honour her pioneering work by discussing consumer issues from perspectives that are often under-represented in today’s conversations, including consumer issues particularly affecting people who are marginalised in today’s society.
