Ex-military electronics technician (30+ years), ran a custom computer business for 10+ years and hate being conned/ripped-off.

I refused to deal with some importers/distributors after detecting fake components and so only sold ‘name brand’ items from reputable sources.

I found it easy to deal with customers as I just used to think “What would be a fair thing to do if I was in their shoes?”. Staff were trained accordingly.

It worked well and I was proud that we managed to sell custom computers all over Australia from our small shop in Wodonga.

We had very few warranty claims as extensive tests were conducted as part of quality control during assembly.

Reluctantly had to close the business when State and Federal taxes/levy’s and a greedy landlord made it uneconomic to continue.
