Wind Powered Energy Generation

Collective wisdom -

More generally all councils have regulations that apply to all types of structures, towers etc including those erected in non urban areas. Approval requirements vary firstly by locality/zoning and on the type of structure/size.

If one is not part of the urban sprawl.
There are limited choices of businesses offering small scale wind generation solutions, when compared to those offering solar PV. Many of the wind options are targeted at free standing wind generators, best suited to open wind exposed locations. More likely for coastal rural locations. Obtaining quotes from more than one business is essential.

For those serious enough to approach a supplier and installer - small scale wind generation is eligible for clean energy certificates. Comparing the number and value of the certificates attached to any quote is one way of assessing the merit of wind generation relative to the certificates attached to a similar investment in solar PV.
How the scheme works.
