Water Filters in 2025

Varying experiences with water quality and that supplied by a selection of regional town and small cities water utilities.

We have used until our most recent home several different solutions including jugs with filter inserts and benchtop units. Relatively inexpensive aside from the need to replace the filter cartridges regularly. Some offer expensive cartridges - alongside IMHO rather remarkable claims as to the water quality delivered by the filters.

To suspect the use of “Australian brands” in marketing is not an assurance of Australian manufacture. The recent focus on Bunnings product ranges worth noting.

P.S.
We had good use of a Stefani branded ceramic benchtop water filter. It did need regular cleaning internally. The tap assembly which is replaceable began leaking after a number of years, the only major issue. Believe it is a brand exclusive to Bunnings. The product is made in Brazil?
