How quickly we forget

One classic I recall was when the Austin Freeway was released in Australia in 1962 along with the radio ad jingle. “Make way for the Austin Freeway, it’s the greatest car on earth”. Amazing what you could get away with prior to the Trade Practices Act. Even calling it a car would be pushing the boundaries now, let alone " the greatest car on earth". However, it could justifabily be described as the greatest (…) on earth.
