On the Friday before, a bloke From Ausgrid turned up. He’d been sent to inspect my (and probably other) mains. When I showed him the report that I already had, his response was “So why am I here?” or words to that effect. It seems that with privatisation came fragmentation, with predictable effects on coordination. He said something about there being too many people involved. It was much simpler, more reliable and safer when there was just the County Council. Which brings us back to the title of this thread.
