Opinions on Amazon expanding their Australian business

This was the British Leylands factory at Zetland. The supervision wasn’t heartless software but men in white shirts and dull ties who carried with them the British class struggle, sexism, racism, favouritism and the attitude that workers need to be coerced and controlled closely or they will not work. The union was anathema to be bludgeoned like ill matched car components until they did what was required.

Management knew that people didn’t want to come to work and hated them which was taken as proof, as if any was needed , that workers were shiftless ingrates who didn’t deserve the jobs they were given in the noisy, dirty factory that froze in winter and fried in summer. Amazon didn’t invent anything any of this, they added aircon and sacked most of the unsmiling men in their ties.

Is the end result any different?
Can we settle for improved on the model?

FULLY AGREE, ITS BASICALLY SLAVE LABOR, IF YOU ARE WORKING IN THEIR WAREHOUSE, YOU HAVE TO GRAB A NEW ITEM EVERY 6 minutes, otherwise you will “GET THE SACK”.

Doesn’t sound any different to working at Kmart.
