Here’s the situation with Koala.
We tested the original mattress a few years ago. Last year we found out that Koala had made a few changes to the mattress but were still selling it under the same name. That made it a different product as far as we’re concerned, which is why we have the 2018 model set as discontinued in our test.
There’s quite a long lead time on this test as the mattresses are shipped to specialist labs. Though we intended to test the updated version of the Koala mattress, we found out that it was set to be discontinued between our planned purchase time and test period. Unfortunately the new range of Koala mattresses didn’t get released until well after we’d sent the most recent batch off for testing. That’s why we don’t have any currently available Koala products in our test at the moment.
However if all goes to plan (and that’s a big if in COVID times) then we will have Koala samples that are currently available in our next test. This is due to be published around mid-2022.
As for the lead image on the test, that was prepared years ago when Koala had an available product in our test. I can see how it can be misleading so I’ll arrange to have it replaced with a generic mattress image. This won’t happen overnight as we’re all really under the pump right now so replacing the lead image on a test that isn’t scheduled to be updated for some time will be quite low on the priority list for our design team.
