Looks like I’m not alone in making that observation:

Markets at their core can work. When well-regulated, they are an efficient and effective way to organise certain activities. They are a useful part of a system – but are not a system in themselves.

The return of the State and a well-regulated market economy will be the only chance we have to do so.
