HotDoc app

It may be as simple as any one of the medical services you have used in recent years or weeks adding your XYZ email address to HotDoc through their access permissions. I’m routinely asked for my email address or to confirm/update when visiting any one of several GP services or specialists or the hospital. There are other explanations possible, less reassuring in suspecting what they might be.

If that is the case, wouldn’t you think the extra email address would show up in @BollocksBuster’s details in the hotdoc app?

Noting @BollocksBuster surprise and displeasure with what has occurred and not knowing how or why. Hopefully they can get some satisfaction from approaching the medical service and or HotDoc.

There is an assumption that when one logs into HotDoc to check ones registration details the email revealed is the only email. HotDoc IT support might be the best ones to ask if this is so. Consumers are just a commodity in the system. @BollocksBuster may also get a response by discussing with the particular medical service the notification related to?

One starting point. “Patient Support” is how HotDoc distinguish us consumers from the paying users “Practice Support”.

hot doc seems to be pushing one to make an appointment

A conversation that has been occurring in the “Is this a scam” topic that appears relevant to this topic. I have posted a link to the first post about the HotDoc issue. There are several posts that follow on from this initial post about it all.

The situation I will chat about is quite different to that mentioned above. At the beginning of each year (and via the receptionist, not HotDoc) I make my appointments for both my podiatrist (whom I see every 6 weeks) and my chiropractor (whom I see every 8 weeks for ‘maintenance’). I duly note my calendar for the year. (I am very much a senior and my calendar is my ‘bible’ shall we say!!) The two people I have mentioned, work in Allied Health within a normal GP practice, which I have attended for nine years or so, since moving to Vic from NSW. What I am puzzled about, is the fact that I get a reminder from HotDoc about an appointment, but it completely misses the point. For instance, in March I received a HotDoc email advising of my podiatry appointment…in September this year!! Completely missing the fact that I have earlier appointments than that for which it is reminding me. All rather pointless. I have mentioned it to the practice but the situation remains the same. However, it is no concern of mine what HotDoc is reminding me of, because I have the listing the receptionist gave me for my appointments for the year, (and my trusty calendar!!) so obviously I ignore that email. I always get a phone call from a receptionist the day before, asking me to confirm my appointment for any given day, and I do. (If I’m not home, they leave a message, and I call them back.) HotDoc is doing nothing helpful for me, especially since it goes months ahead with the reminder. (I have never needed to make an appointment via HotDoc and never will.)
