Also, let’s not present it as an either-or. You can use both and you can choose the balance betwen what you do in cash and what you do electronically. And, within the category of electronic transactions, you can choose more risky and less risky i.e. not all electronic payment methods are the same or present the same risk of hacking or fraud.
For me, cash usage reached a low point during the pandemic and I am now doing more transactions in cash than I did during the pandemic i.e. cash is making a comeback.
Going back to cash is a choice.
