Origin at least are trialling Community Batteries in both NSW and Qld. In Qld it is in cooperation with Energex, in NSW it is with 3 power companies. At the moment the areas are very limited, this doesn’t mean that households shouldn’t register interest in participating in the schemes.
In some cases you need to be a customer of Origin, in others this is not a requirement.

People without solar panels can also participate in the trials, it is about testing the Community Battery concept.
South Australia is also trialling Community Batteries (limited areas at the moment)
