A significant difference is that canvas and other tent materials are woven (eg porous to an extent) and thus exposed to air drying from the back, eg the adhesive migrates into the ‘pores’, dries, and thus has a binding action.

Your twins have skin that is not woven and secretes bodily fluids that work to dilute/loosen the adhesive. Sometimes when one removes an adhesive bandage there is residue around the edges where the adhesive has been exposed to air and dries. It can be difficult to remove.

You might have a try just to disprove (or prove to possible surprise) that the ‘patch’ recommendation works fairly well.

Lissimo seems to think that because band-aids don’t stick permanently to sweaty skin they won’t stick long to fabrics. My experience over decades shows view to be incorrect.
