Electrolux / Westinghouse Refusing to honour warranty

Welcome to the Community @TrevorFisch,

For clarity are you aware of and have you always been trying the ‘reset’ as described, and it failed with each instance? This should be in the troubleshooting part of the owners manual, but?

It could be the part has always been dodgy and thus problematic or something else has been ‘killing’ your clock boards such as a dodgy power supply, or you had and have a "westinghouse serviceman’ who is not an authorised Westinghouse repairer and may have taken advantage.

I pose that because it could be rare for an individual consumer to buy a part and ring a service person to install it; a consumer would call a service person to check out the problem and organise the part - even though individually sourcing a part could save money.

A family member bought a home a few months ago with a beaut SMEG cooker - and the clock would not function or reset BUT reading the troubleshooting available we discovered by pressing certain buttons in the correct sequence reset the clock/timer, and it remains problem free months later.

The disinclination of Electrolux/Westinghouse to engage is appalling but your having waited 3-4 years as it appears would not have been helpful regardless. If you go to QCAT and they do not attend you could get a summary judgement - and might have to take that to court for service.

Seeking legal advice referencing @grahroll’s post about free resources may be helpful for a start.

I am reminded about another member’s experience with Breville that could give you hope for taking it further.

Please keep your topic posted re what you do and how it goes.
