Double dipping into my account

Hi @OldGal, What you are probably seeing is

a) when you ordered they put a pre-authorisation hold on your account for $92.
b) when they packed the order they processed its charge for $69; the hold remained
c) after some days the hold will automatically be removed from your account

Some businesses seem able, willing to, and cancel the pre-authorisation hold and others do not seem to bother (or be able to?)

Credit cards vs Debit cards

My understanding from the article is that Coles used to only charge for what was delivered, on the day. They changed to put a hold for the entire order on the accout at the time the order was placed, ‘refunds’ issued on the day for products not delivered, and the hold stayed so the lady could not buy more groceries - living from week to week in a cash economy facilitated by her debit card, as I read it. Perhaps not even tea could be purchased for a few days to put into the tea cup?

Understanding does not help you get that hold released or access to your money, but hopefully it helps understand what is going on.
