Car companies removing safety tech

While this one is from the USA, land of the free, I hope there is zero chance such irresponsible features can find their way here. But with our trend for international harmonisation regardless of sanity could our ‘regulators’ require such features to at least be locked off if the engine is running or for BEV, when the vehicle is in ‘gear’ (eg in a state capable of moving under its own power)?

Distracting ‘attention to driving and the road’ seems the ultimate ‘removing safety tech’.

Another one to add to the list. Although not stated these sensors can be used to detect a child inadvertently left in the vehicle.

Also, would this affect the insurance premium for this particular model?

This is still happening, even to a company that built its reputation on saftey.

Another.
