What are the defects?

The outlet exhaust pipe is incorrectly positioned, which may cause heat damage to some braking system components, such as the service brake relay valve, which may melt.

What are the hazards?

If the service brake relay valve melts, there may be increased stopping distance when the brakes are applied, increasing the risk of an accident or injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.

What should consumers do?

Affected owners will be contacted in writing and advised to contact their nearest Volvo Group Australia repairing dealer to replace the exhaust outlet pipe and replace the relay valve, where required.
