Toxic chemicals in sanitary napkins

Just read this news report about the presence of highly toxic chemicals in sanitary napkins in India. https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/health/high-amounts-of-harmful-chemicals-found-in-sanitary-napkins-sold-in-india-study-453861

I wonder if any similar safety data is available for women’s hygiene products in Australia.

Welcome @rawender!

The liners and pads in my bathroom are made in the Czech Republic, Belgium, and Victoria. All have expiry dates (apparently fungus growth can be caused by being stored in a humid place like a bathroom).
Using pads made from cotton, which is dioxin free if unbleached, and wood pulp and plasticisers free, would reduce the risks linked to the use of synthetic plastic materials which can release harmful chemicals (dioxin, bleach, pesticides…)
