Sometimes I wonder whether genuine sports memorabilia is a scam but perhaps that’s another story …

I have always thought the same thing. I remember seeing memorabilia advertised during major sporting events for a significant sums of money…and often have thought these are mass produced rather than something unique (like an authenticated signature on a bat or a authenticated jersey worn during a game) which will be a good long term investment.
