Savings of negative $0.25!

I saw this fancy new special for laundry soap a few weeks ago. Originally $6, now on special for only $6.25! Bargain! :stuck_out_tongue:

And $6.25 will become its “normal” price.

I noticed this ploy a few times (before Unit Pricing which needs labels on shelves). Where I was aware of the price eg plastic jugs for $2.50, then next week “on special for $2.50 - save 50cents”, week after $3.The $2.50 label is taken down while ‘On Special’ People remember the ‘Special’ price, and kick themselves that they should have bought it last week when it was $2.50, now it is back at its normal price of $3, ohh well I’ll buy one.
